Spoken Word
Here’s a little of my writing. Hope you like it…

Not a giant declaration of love…

At the end of every long day,
With all the complications, twists and turns that life brings,
You know you can survive the following day,
When your partner takes your hand in theirs.

Not a giant declaration of love,
Not forceful or passionate,
Just a simple, unconscious action,
Which lightens the soul and warms the heart.

Once upon a time

Once upon a time you believed in me.
Once upon a time I was a light in your otherwise ordinary day.
Once upon a time you saw me, really saw me,
Wanted to see me again,
Wanted to know me.
Once upon a time you wanted me to know you,

To love you.
Once upon a time we were happy.

We were happy.
We were happy.

The woman I love

Her white skin, clear and untainted,
A pinky rose petal colour across her cheeks,
Her eyelashes charcoal and not a bit of make-up in sight.
Her lips a dark rose - not dry and not yet moist,
…But kissable.
Kissable lips.
A kissable face.
The whole of her beautiful,
The woman I love.

A place…

A place where the head does not stress or the body endure,
A place of rest,
An unexplainable, indefinable sanctuary of safety,
A place of beauty,
A place where everything is alright,
The peaceful, tranquil, sleepy state of sleep.

Autumn time

The park leaves shine pure and gold,
Whilst they glisten and dance with the wind.

My dreams for a cure for depression

My body burns for a cool, chilling liquid.
A drop, a stream.
To pass through my body and quench my dying thirst.

Purify me. Make me clean.

The water sears through me, through every cell in my body,
I am no longer dirty.
I am alive, I am free.

A true wonder

She breathes in and out.
Her chest rising and falling,
Not quick, not slow, but beating.
A constant calm.

She stirs, her eyelashes flutter,
She rolls over to rest her head once more, on the pillow beside her.
Out and in, out and in,
The oxygen flows as easily as water downstream.

How amazing is the human body -
The lungs breathe, the heart pumps,
It's mechanical, it's natural -
And all whilst the lady sleeps.

Heavy raindrops

The girl wakes,
And her dreams vanish,
As she sees the heavy raindrops on her windowpane...

Favourite things…

Love, heart, rose, red, candles, Dan, family, children, romantic love, wellies in a stream, strawberries and cream, songs, flowers, rose petals, honeymoon, snuggling, spooning, making love, incredible sex, star-gazing, photographs and photo-frames, happiness, flying, gifts, treats, presents, love notes, love letters, chocolate, romantic meals, baths and candles, hot steamy showers, sharing family, eyes, travelling, massages, watching films, writing, poetry, dancing, laughing, smiling, holding hands, pinching bottoms!

Shopping Hell

Hundreds of people on the high street, going from shop to shop,
Hustle and bustle, picking things up.
Presents to buy, clothes to get,
New shoes for the kids, putting you in debt.
A blusher, a foundation, a haircut and some pants.
Teenagers and parents having a rant.
Some cigs for you and a Diet Coke for me,
An elderly couple have a nice cup of tea.
Suddenly the streets are empty and all is bare,
It's a beautiful sight so I stop and stare.
For the day has passed and the sun turned to night,
The crowds have come and gone and all is alright.
